light blue - educational
dark blue - public/civic
red - mainly retail/office
purple - mainly warehouses/offices
green - border of the CBD
the nature of the surrounding areas are at a pedestrian scale (thankyou Captain Obvious), so it won't change how the bridge is used (it's a pedestrian bridge, not a vehicle or mixed one) . The nature of the functions will influence where the view from the bridge will be most attractive.
It's actually quite interesting all around, so perhaps an open top bridge would be ideal. We'll see.
